Materials
Worsted weight yarn
J/6.0 mm hook
Yarn needle
Scissors

Level
Easy -you must be very familiar with basic crochet stitches

Pattern notes & stitches to know
Ch – chain
Hdc – half double crochet
Dc – double crochet

Ch 4 COUNTS as dc + ch 1

Ch 2 does not count as dc

Ch 1 does not count as hdc

Written in US terms.

PART 4 – OPEN NET FILET STITCH

Join to end of row 19

Row 20: ch 2, turn, dc in each stitch across (169 dc)

Row 21: ch 1, turn, hdc in each stitch across (169 hdc)

Row 22: ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), turn, skip 1 stitch, dc in next, *ch 1, skip 1 stitch, dc in next* repeat from * to * across (85 dc)

Row 23: ch 4 (counts as dc + ch 1), turn, dc in first ch 1 space, *ch 1, dc in next ch 1 space* repeat from * to * across, ending with dc in turning ch (85 dc)

Row 24: repeat row 23

Row 25: ch 1, turn, hdc in each stitch and ch across (169 hdc)

Row 26: ch 2, turn, dc in each stitch across (169 dc)

Fasten off. Weave in the ends or add fringe.

  1. I can’t seem to get the count right for row 20. I always end up with 170. Chain 2 does not count as a stitch, so do I crochet into that stitch? When I do that, I don’t get the right count. Am I doing something wrong?
