    1. Hi! I used foundation sc. You can use a starting chain instead. So do the foundation sc amount + 1 more for your chain. Then start in the 2nd ch from the hook and single crochet across

        1. Hi! You can add as many rows as you’d like before you start the neckline, Then be sure to add the same amount of rows to the bottom. Hope that helps 🙂

  1. Breann – I am emailing you because I am not on any other form of social media. I LOVE your Block-Party-Tee, but I am having trouble. I am 5’3” tall, 116 lbs., 34 bust, and wear xs tops. I started off making the size small. After a few rows, I could see there was no way this was going to fit me. I double & triple checked my count and it was correct. I used the 4.5mm hook. So, I decided to go up a size, and now I have tried the S, the M, and lastly the L, and none are the right size to be loose fitting. I am completely frustrated and cannot figure it out☹️ Do you have a tutorial for this pattern?

    1. Hi! No, I don’t have a video tutorial for this pattern. What is your gauge? You might have a much tighter tension than I do. What is the width of the top when you make it?

      1. I love this design and it’s perfect for what I have been looking for this spring and summer!!! Fabulous design!!!

        1. I am very confused with this description…I am seeing the same row numbers and not sure what you mean…
          Please help…

          Repeat rows 3 & 4 to Row 38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48 (42, 46, 50, 54, 58, 62 sc)

The neckline is formed in the next row

          Row 39, 41, 43, 45, 47, 49: ch 2, turn, dc in first 2 stitches, *ch 2, dc in next 2 sc* repeat from * to * 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 more times (14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 dc)

          Row 40, 42, 44, 46, 48, 50: ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 stitches, *ch 2, sc in next 2 dc* repeat from * to * 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 more times (14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 sc)

          Repeat previous 2 rows to Row 47, 51, 55, 59, 63, 67 (14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24 dc)

          Thank you

          1. Hi! Those are for the different sizes. The first number is S, the second is M, and so on. What size are you making?

        1. One rectangle. Starting from the bottom of the front going up. Then over the shoulders and back down. The sides are then sewn together. The width of the rectangle is not the size of the bust, but half.

          1. I too am having trouble trying to figure out this pattern. I was hoping to see a video made or some kind of diagram with the pattern.

  2. 👋 Hello, I have a question about making this pattern. I have been following this pattern exactly, and I do know how to crochet, I am not a beginner, however even though I used a larger hook a 5.0 mm instead of a 4.5 mm (because I tend to crochet tighter than normal, so I usually go up one size) and I’m making this in the size large. Your note to us is that this is one big rectangle not two different pieces sewn together but one big rectangle that you fold together however when I fold mine together even though I am on Row 4 I can see that it is going to be too small, it looks like it’s for a child, instead. I did the foundation single crochet of the amount of 90 which is for a size large to begin with so I know I did that part correct and I’m following everything else that you have on here in the pattern but I don’t understand how it’s going to be 1 big rectangle and not two ?!?! Please tell me what I am doing wrong 🙏, I’m trying to make this sweater for my sister’s birthday and I think it’s so pretty in the picture 😍, but now it’s not looking correct for it to be one big rectangle !?! Hopeless in FL (Lisa) 🥺🤔thanks for all of your other patterns too because they’re really pretty and I really want to make them and I’m also going to be doing chemo caps for kids and adults so I like a lot of your hat patterns as well ❤️‍🩹, Thanks again !

    1. Hi! The width of your rows is the width of the top. What is the width of the 90 stitches? The rectangle will be folded longways. Not across the short side 🙂
