      1. To make it smaller, you’d skip row 5 (last row of increase). Each additional row will be 48 stitches instead of 60.

  1. I love your beanie patterns! I’ve learned new stitches, which is always fun. And yes, your cause is wonderful and I did sign up. I’m looking to donate to county hospitals, as the people who go there don’t have the funds or insurance to go to the bigger hospitals in Los Angeles(which there are many). Thank you again, your cause is what I was looking for.

    1. I just finished this herringbone beanie and I must say, it turned out larger than an adult medium using worsted weight yarn and an I hook as specified (and I crochet tight). I like the beanie, just wondering about the size.

      1. Hi! How much bigger is it than the measurements given? Maybe this stitch came out looser than usual for you?

      2. Same here.. I love my hats that big because I have big curly hair lol But I wasnt making it for me :/ oh and I’m using a 5.0mm hook ? I could really use some gauge measurements on this one!

  2. I have a question for Row 3 it says *hbdc, 2 hbdc in next stitch* , is this basically 3 hbdc in the next stitch?

  3. Thank byou you!! I should have known that! I’m not that great with writtwen patterns so keep your fingers crossed!

  4. I just finished row 5 and my hat seems pretty small and is measuring at ~5 inches. I don’t believe I made that big of mistake. Do you suggest just doing another increase row? doing hubc in next 4 and then double on the next st? Thanks!

  5. I really liked the looks of this pattern and it said it was easy so I thought I would give it a try. I am really having a hard time. I don’t know what you mean by turn. Does that mean you actually turn the hat and go in the opposite direction? I am not real good with crochet. Please help if you can explain. Thank you.

  6. Thank you so much for your pattern. I live in Saskatchewan and donate my finished items to the different community schools and homeless shelters. Your gift of this pattern will be paid forward to those in need in my area.

  7. I don’t know how to read crochet instructions and rely heavily on videos. Are you planning to post one soon?

  8. How do you know if you have a worsted weight yarn? I’m using Hobby Lobbys “I Love This Yarn” which is 100% acrylic, very soft and is a medium weight (4).

I’m on row 4 & I’m not seeing the herringbone stitch. Is my yarn the wrong kind? I know I’m doing it correctly just can’t see it. I’m assuming I need something else but not sure what to look for.

  9. I just finished the herringbone beanie and texturized beanie. Love them both!
Christmas gifts for two of my sisters boyfriends. Thank you so much for the patterns!

  10. Hi! Just finished this and it’s beautiful! Question though before I make another one… Mine has a visible seam from the slst ch 2, how do I avoid that in the future?

  11. I’m confused by what this means in round 3: “*hbdc, 2 hbdc in next stitch*

Does that mean a total of 2 hbdc in the same stitch — because I did that and got way more than 36 hbdc at the end of the round/
