This Valentine’s Day Heart Plushie Crochet Pattern is made with all single crochet stitches. It’s perfect for a beginner amigurumi project! I used Honey Bunny Yarn from Hobbii for these hearts. This yarn is a Super Bulky (6) velour yarn. It is my favorite for making plushies!!

J/6.0 mm hook
yarn needle

· This heart is made in 3 sizes. Small (6″), Medium (8″), Large (10″)

· Each heart is made with 2 separate pieces sewn together.

· ch 1 does not count as sc

VALENTINE’S DAY HEART PLUSHIE CROCHET PATTERN

SMALL (make 2)

ch 2

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook (1 sc)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, 2 sc (2 sc)

Row 3: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each stitch (4 sc)

Row 4: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first stitch, sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in last stitch (6 sc)

Row 5: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first stitch, sc in each stitch across to last stitch, 2 sc in last stitch (8 sc)

Row 6 – 10: repeat row 5 – each row will increase by 2 stitches (18 sc)

Row 11: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (18 sc)

In the next row, only work halfway across

Row 12: ch 1, turn, sc in 9 stitches (9 sc)

Row 13: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 5 stitches, sc2tog (7 sc)

Row 14: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (7 sc)

Row 15: ch 1, turn, sc in 5 stitches, sc2tog (6 sc)

Row 16: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (6 sc)

Row 17: ch 1, turn, sc2tog across (3 sc)

Fasten off.

Lay heart with the side just made on the right. Join yarn in the 9th stitch from the left in Row 12.

Row 12: ch 1, sc in each stitch across (9 sc)

Row 13: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in 5 stitches, sc2tog (7 sc)

Row 14: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (7 sc)

Row 15: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in remaining stitches across (6 sc)

Row 16: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (6 sc)

Row 17: ch 1, turn, sc2tog across (3 sc)

Do not fasten off.

Ch 1, sc around entire heart. Work down the side, (sc, ch 1, sc) in bottom corner, continue working up the other side and around the curve, sl st in top corner. sc around remaining curve. Join to first sc with sl st. Fasten off. Weave in the ends.

MEDIUM (make 2)

ch 2

Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook (1 sc)

Row 2: ch 1, turn, 2 sc (2 sc)

Row 3: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each stitch (4 sc)

Row 4: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first stitch, sc in next 2 stitches, 2 sc in last stitch (6 sc)

Row 5: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first stitch, sc in each stitch across to last stitch, 2 sc in last stitch (8 sc)

Row 6 – 12: repeat row 5 – each row will increase by 2 stitches (22 sc)

Row 13 – 14: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (22 sc)

In the next row, only work halfway across

Row 15: ch 1, turn, sc in 11 stitches (11 sc)

Row 16: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 7 stitches, sc2tog (9 sc)

Row 17: ch 1, turn, sc in each stitch across (9 sc)

Row 18: ch 1, turn, sc in 7 stitches, sc2tog (8 sc)

SEWING

Put both hearts together, right side facing out. Use stitch markers to keep them in place. Sew together using sc around. Join yarn to the ch-1 space in the bottom corner. (sc, ch 1, sc) in ch-1 space, sc in each sc around, sl st in top corner, begin stuffing with fiber fill, sc in remaining stitches around, continue stuffing with fiber fill as it closes up, join to first sc with sl st.

Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
