KID’S TURBAN STYLE HAT CROCHET PATTERN

Starting with main color, make a magic ring

Round 1: ch 1, hdc 10 in ring, pull ring closed tight

Do not join. Continue the next round working in the first stitch of round 1. You will be working in a spiral. Put your stitch marker in the first hdc of the next round

Round 2: 2 hdc in each stitch around (20 hdc)

Again, do not join. Move your stitch marker to the first hdc of round 3

Round 3: *hdc in 1 stitch, 2 hdc in next* repeat from * to * around (30 hdc)

Round 4: *hdc in 2 stitches, 2 hdc in next* repeat from * to * around (40 hdc)

Round 5: *hdc in 3 stitches, 2 hdc in next* repeat from * to * around (50 hdc)

Round 6: *hdc in 4 stitches, 2 hdc in next* repeat from * to * around, (60 hdc)

Round 7: *hdc in 5 stitches, 2 hdc in next* repeat from * to * around (70 hdc)

Diameter of the circle should be approximately 6”

Round 8 – 14: hdc in each stitch around (70 hdc)

Change to secondary color

Round 15: hdc in each stitch around (70 hdc)

Change to main color

Round 16: sc 3rd loop in each stitch around (70 sc)

Repeat rounds 15 & 16 (changing colors every other round) to Round 24

Fasten off. Leave the secondary color end long for weaving.

Weave in the other ends.

Use your yarn needle to thread the long end through the top of round 15 (the first round with the texture). Going down around the bottom of the hat, bring the yarn back up to the same stitch you started in, thread the yarn through the same stitch. Pull it tight to cinch it up. Continue wrapping the yarn in this same stitch until you have a thick band.

Fasten off, weave in the ends.

And you’re done with this cute beanie!

  1. Your crochet along for a cause hats are wonderful. As a cancer survivor who lost her hair, the patterns are perfect for a bald, sensitive scalp that one would like to cover completely. And they are great for non-cancer wearers. Your instructions are very well done and photographed beautifully – both printed and blog instructions. Thank you!

  2. Thanks , I’m hoping to crochet all the hats you offer to donate to the Cancer Chemo clinic…Your generosity is very much appreciated.. 🙂

  3. Hello I’m making your hat I’m not getting on what the 3loop is could you please send me a video on it greatly appreciate it Kathy Gagnon

  4. I would love to make this for adults. The turban style adds a little extra something other than a regular beanie. Would you be kind enough to give me instructions to convert to adult sizing? Thank you.

  5. I would love to make this in adult size. The turban style adds something extra to a beanie look. Would you be kind enough to tell me how to do adult sizing please. Thank you, Dottie
