Easy Diagonal Scarf Crochet Pattern

The Easy Diagonal Scarf Crochet Pattern is just that… easy! You can make any simple striped scarf a little extra fun by making it diagonal. I used Basic Stitch from Lion Brand in 3 colors for my scarf, but any worsted weight yarn would work just fine! I used less than 100g of each color.

Materials
Worsted weight yarn in 3 colors—less than 100g each color (I used Lion Brand Basic Stitch in Goldmine, Boysenberry, Charcoal)
I/5.5 mm hook
yarn needle
scissors

Pattern notes & stitches to know
ch – chain
hdc – half double crochet
hdc2tog – half double crochet 2 together (half double crochet decrease)

· written in US terms

· ch 2 does not count as hdc

· The pattern is written in rows. Each row increases on one side and decreases on the other. This creates the diagonal shape.

Approx Finished Size: 60” x 6”

Stripe Pattern

EASY DIAGONAL SCARF CROCHET PATTERN

ch 32 (or desired width)

Row 1: 2 hdc in 3rd ch from the hook, hdc in each ch across to the last 2, hdc2tog (30 hdc)

Row 2: ch 2, turn, hdc2tog, hdc in each stitch across to the last stitch, 2 hdc in last stitch (30 hdc)

Row 3: ch 2, turn, 2 hdc in first stitch, hdc in each stitch across to the last 2, hdc2tog (30 hdc)

Repeat rows 2 & 3 to Row 118 (30 hdc)

or until desired length

Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
