To be honest I haven’t found my favourite yet. But it would have to be light and airy. Most likely a cotton blend. Where I live I have to travel or purchase online. We have a lys in the next town but prices are expensive for someone on a budget and the walmart only has a small selection of yarn so I continue my search. I did find a pattern for a womens tee using its a wrap rainbow that I thought was interesting.

I love light weight cotton for summer
I enjoy the LB Cotton-Ease and Cotton Bamboo (I love the sort of shiplap beach bungalow feel of the colors in the bamboo collection) in the summer. I also try to repurpose shirts and slacks that I’ve purged from my closet that won’t go over well at goodwill/consignment so I don’t blow a whole summers savings on yarn. No repeats of 1998.

I agree, cotton is best for summer. I used to really love CottonEase (gone far too soon!) but lately I haven’t been making many “seasonal” items. I just tried 100% hemp for the first time and while it was kinda stringy/ropelike, I’m looking forward to how it behaves over time. Apparently it’s supposed to soften with each wash!

I don’t have a favorite summer yarn. I typically use 4 weight acrylic yarn, pretty much any brand I can get my hands on! I crochet a lot of blankets for donations to various charities and our local animal shelter.

For thin (fingering/sport) yarn I like to use Schachenmayr Catania Solids (and Catania Print) and for thicker (worsted/aran) I like Rico Design Creative Cotton (Aran). These two brands are relatively affordable, easy-to-find where I live. But truth be told, I usually buy my yarn at the local secondhand shop. 😉

I used any cotton blend #2 or #3 Cotton Fair used for a summer top
I only like cotton, viscose, bambu. I do not have winter.
I like to use a Pima cotton yarn from a local spinner.
Cotton, especially Lion Brand Cotton, and Caron ones, if they are soft it is a plus, but here in Mexico the heat is on most of the year, so you need more fresh yarns 🙂

I don’t really have a favorite yarn…As long as it’s soft and works up easily. Right now I’m using a lot of cotton, working on kitchen items for a wedding gift.
Right now, I am loving DK weight as I am making summer wearables! But, I am very fond of bulky and super bulky yarns, too.
If I had to pick it would be a cotton sugar and cream. There is not much of a choice where I live. Looking forward to next CAL.

I have to admit I love the new yarns, It’s a Wrap, and It’s a wrap Rainbow. They make awesome clothing pieces that drape very well. I’m partial toward all yarn that is super fine, fine & sport weight. I don’t really like wool. OK, so I’m picky. 🙂 Thanks for having this gr8 giveaway.
