Materials
25g worsted weight cotton yarn (I used WeCrochet Dishie)
H/5.0 mm hook
hair elastic
yarn needle
scissors

Pattern Notes & Stitches to Know
ch – chain
dc – double crochet
rem – remaining
rep – repeat
sc – single crochet
sk – skip
sl st – slip stitch
sp – space
st(s) – stitch(es)
t – turn
* * – work step in between asterisk
Special Stitches:
sc2tog – single crochet 2 together (insert hook into stitch, pull up a loop, instert hook into next stitch, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through all 3 loops on hook)
vst – V stitch – (dc, ch 1 sc) in one st or sp
- written in US terms
- ch 1 does not count as sc
- ch 4 counts as dc + ch 1
- This headband starts by joining the yarn to the hair elastic, then making the length of the headband in turned rows, and connecting to the other side of the hair elastic. The yarn is rejoined to the edges to crochet the border.
- Sizes: Pattern is written in 3 sizes, Child, Small Adult, & Large Adult consecutively. Example, when the pattern gives the end of the row count as (42, 48, 54), the 42 is the child, the 48 is the sm adult, and the 54 is the lg adult.
- When looking at sizing, keep in mind that there is stretch to the headband due to the hair elastic.

Join yarn to the hair elastic, ch 1
Row 1: working around the hair elastic, 3 sc (3 sc)
Row 2: ch 1, t, 2 sc in first st, sc in rem sts (4 sc)
Row 3: ch 1, t, 2 sc in first st, sc in rem sts (5 sc)
Row 4: ch 1, t, 2 sc in first st, sc in rem sts (6 sc)
Row 5: ch 1, t, 2 sc in first st, sc in rem sts (7 sc)
Row 6: ch 4, t, dc in first st, sk 2, vst in next, sk 2, dc in last st (2 vst, 1 dc)
Row 7: ch 4, t, dc in first st, sk dc, sk ch, vst in next, sk dc, sk ch, dc in last st (2 vst, 1 dc)
Row 8: ch 1, t, sc in each st and ch-sp across (7 sc)
Row 9: ch 1, t, sc in each st across (7 sc)
Repeat rows 6 – 9 to Row (31, 35, 39) ending with a row 7 repeat
Row (32, 36, 40): ch 1, t, sc in each st and ch-sp across (7 sc)
Row (33, 37, 41): ch 1, t, sc2tog, sc in rem sts (6 sc)
Row (34, 38, 42): ch 1, t, sc2tog, sc in rem sts (5 sc)

Join to the hair elastic in next row
