I used one of my favorite stitches for this tank top, the Suzette Stitch. It has such a pretty texture. Plus, it’s a nice and tight stitch so you can’t see through it at all!

Use the long end to sew the side closed with a whip stitch.

Weave in the end

Cut 2 pieces of yarn (approx 6” each). Line up the front and back straps. Use one cut piece of yarn to sew the straps together with a whip stitch. Repeat for the other strap. Weave in the ends.

  1. I’ve been ?watching and waiting for this pattern since I first glimpsed you wearing this top a couple months ago!! Thank you! I have a yarn very similar to what you used, & I’m putting everything else on hold to make this right now!!
    Michelle ?

  2. I love the top part of the pattern. I’d like to make this longer as I don’t do crop tops. Where would be a good spot to add rows? Beginning or middle?

  3. Sometimes when you send out your new pattern designs through email, the actual full pattern is included in the email. Just thought you should know.

  4. Hi Breann,

I am totally in love with everything about this top!! Thank you so much for sharing it 🙂

I may be blind, but I can’t find where you said what brand of yarn you used. I would also like to know if it’s cotton or acrylic etc(and what would you suggest is best in terms of not having it stretch out after wearing it) and what the yardage is for the 200g or 300g.

I too would like to make mine a tad longer, even though we are the same height. So rare to find a designer my height!! I realize that to make it longer, each size goes up in chain length by 4 stitches. but what other numbers/rows throughout the pattern would change, if for instance I wanted the length of a large, but the rest a medium. Hope this makes sense?

Sorry for all the questions, but I’ve been searching forever for a tank with the shaping and the density of stitch etc, and I so want to get this one right!! It’s sooo perfect. I even love the print of the yarn, but I suspect I’ll be making several colors if I can make it work for me.

    Thanks again,
    Tammy

  5. I love this tank top and excited about trying the pattern. I have a question about the chains for the front straps…and I might be misreading the pattern. The first front strap is a chain 23 (for a medium), but the second front strap is a chain 27. I’m confused as to the different numbers.

    Thank you for clarification.

    1. Hi! It’s a different amount because the second strap starts by the neckline, which is lower than the side by the arm 🙂 Hope that makes sense!

      1. Love this tank and I’m really looking forward to making it! I was reading through the pattern and I was confused by the fact that rows seam to be repeated several times like at the beginning where it says:
        “Repeat row 2 to Row 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21
        Row 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22: ch 1, turn, (sc, dc)…
        Row 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 23: ch 1, turn (sc, dc)…
        Repeat 2 previous rows to Row 21, 23, 25, 27, 29, 31”
Row 21 is mentioned in 3 different parts and I’m not sure which instructions to follow.

Thank you so much for the pattern and your time! I’m really looking forward to making this!

          1. Thanks that makes so much sense! I’m not exactly a newbie to crochet but I had never seen a pattern written like that so I just didn’t know how to interpret it.

  6. Hi! I am new to crocheting and had a question about the second row where you say to “skip the next dc” does that mean to skip the next 2 stitches? Thanks for the clarification, I can’t wait to make this top!

  7. Love this pattern! I’d like to make it smaller for a girl size 10-12, width across back at 12”rather than 17……..can’t figure out exactly where I should do the strap rows……have you ever made this in a girls size by any chance? If not, I’m thinking I could just not do straps, then add them after?

Thanks in advance for any advice
    Chris

      1. LOL I realized that after a while. I thought ‘this does not go completely around!’. Then I realized, because it’s worked in ONE piece, it’s the length and not the width.

  8. Hi Breann! I got this pattern quite a bit ago from your etsy shop and just started working on it. For the life of me I cannot get 59 stitches on row 21. I have gone back and reworked them and still nothing. Could it be from the foundation chain?? I really hope not🙈

    Thanks!

  9. Is this pattern a multiple of 2 (for beginning chain)? I started this crop tank a few months ago for my granddaughter, but will have to frog it, because her kind of crop shows her bellly. 🙂 I will start my chain with 30-34 and see how that works out for her. I’ll let you know.
Thank you for the free pattern.

  10. Hi. I just found this pattern and absolutely love it! I just notoced though there seems to be a typo. Towards the end its says “repeat to row 151, 165, 179, 193, 207, 221”
Then the next line it goes to row 154….
I have adjusted the pattern on my end but thought you should know about this.

  11. What is counted in row for stitches? I’m struggling with the gauge. Do I count the combined sc/dc as one stitch or do they count as 2? Do I also count the chain spaces? And the row count, I can not get anywhere near the rows as you call for. I understand the principle and to do a gauge, but can not get it this time.
