Fasten off.

Leave a long end for sewing.

Use a yarn needle to weave the long end in and out of the top of the stitches in the last round.

Cinch the top closed.

(HERE is a photo tutorial showing how I sew the top of a beanie)

Use the beginning end to sew the small space left from joining round 1 closed.

Weave in all the ends.

  1. Would you share your color choices when posting the hat patterns. There are times when the color choice you used really inspires me to copy into my hats. There a many yarn companies with many color choices and I would love to try some of the beautiful colors I see here.
    Thanks,
    Deborah

      1. This is my favourite so far. Enjoyed doing it. Love the new stitches I am doing. 80 years soon and still love my crochet.. thank you

  2. Found it! Orange Burst! You had the name in the pattern. And yes, thank you for such a lovely pattern and color choice!

  3. omg…love this pattern…very frustrated at first…as i had never done a foundation chain before…googled and practiced over and over for a whole day…this will be one of my go to beanies from now on…thank you…have a blessed day!

  4. Hi Breann
Things were going along swimmingly until I reached the decrease row. I am doing something wrong as I am not decreasing…the “dc in next” instruction is confusing me…and then when I completed row 20, I hadn’t decreased. Not sure if you can help me without seeing my piece?
