Bobble Beanie Crochet Pattern (CAL for a Cause)
Welcome to Week 7 of the Crochet Along for a Cause! This week, we’re adding a fun and textured project to our collection – the Bobble Beanie Crochet Pattern. This cozy hat is worked from the top down in turned rounds and features the playful bobble stitch for lots of texture and warmth.
Like many of our patterns this year, the Bobble Beanie also has a matching scarf so you can donate a beautiful set. Handmade sets like these are especially appreciated in shelters, since they bring both comfort and a little extra cheer.

Materials
- Yarn: Worsted weight acrylic yarn (great for warmth, durability, and easy care)
- Hook: H/5.0 mm hook
- Notions: Scissors, yarn needle, stitch markers
About the Pattern
- Worked top-down – no sewing required!
- Turned rounds keep the texture balanced and neat
- Bobble stitch adds a fun, squishy texture that makes this hat extra cozy
This hat works up quickly once you get into the rhythm of the bobbles, and the texture makes it stand out as a special handmade gift.

Matching Bobble Scarf
Pair the Bobble Beanie with the Bobble Scarf to create a matching set! The scarf is a simple design with the same fun bobble texture worked along the edges. Together, they make a thoughtful, cozy gift that will be treasured by the person who receives it.

Hi! I just finished tow 37 of the bobble beanie, and I have a gaping opening at the top. What have I done wrong?
Hi! Use the long end to sew the top closed 🙂
I’m confused with the *fpdc, sc* repeat from * to * around. When am I to insert the sc??
In the stitch after the fpdc 🙂
I also do not understand where to put the single crochet.
After I make the fpdc, the following stitch is a dc from the row below. What stitch does the sc go into? Am I skipping the next DC or sc into the top of the DC below?
Hi! You will sc in the next stitch 🙂
Hello,
This pattern is so cute. Is this an adult size? If not could you please tell me how to adjust it?
Thank you
Cherice ?
But the next stitch is a double cro set, and pattern says to fpdc in each DC. Do you have a photo? What i have tried doesn’t look right
You should be alternating fpdc and sc round. So each sc will be in a sc and each fpdc will be in a fpdc
Yes but the first row is all fpdc so it is very confusing where to place the sc in the second row. What I did looks wrong. Not at all like your photo. The first stitch h fpdc, the next stitch is a fpdc in the row below. Where does the sc go? In the top of the fpdc in the row below? I’ve tried everything. It looks awful. I’ve done many crochet combinations. Never this
The first round is dc. Not front post double crochet
Yes I did know that just wrote it wrong. I’m speaking about the second row repeatedly, that is fpdc, sc, and asking exactly how to crochet the sc into the next stitch after the fpdc, which is a DC in the row below. The sc makes the fpdc curve downward
Yes, the sc will be a little shorter than the fpdc. Can you send me a photo? hookedonhomemadehappiness@gmail.com
