This week, we’ll add finishing touches like fringe and a crocheted drawstring to give your piece that polished, beach-ready look. These small details bring it all together and let you add your own flair!

Materials
Caron Cotton Cakes (250g) (2 cakes for 2/4 & 6/8, 3 for 10/12 & 14/16) (3 cakes for S/M, 4 for L/XL & 2X/3X, 5 for 4X/5X)
I/5.5 mm hook – or hook used to obtain gauge
Yarn needle
Scissors
stitch markers

sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
sc2tog – single crochet 2 together

Sizes:
(2/4, 6/8, 10/12, 14/16) (S/M, L/XL, 2X/3X, 4X/5X)- The pattern is written in these sizes consecutively.
Kid’s Sizing –
Chest: 2/4 (24″) 6/8 (28″) 10/12 (32″) 14/16 (36″)
Length: 2/4 (22″) 6/8 (24″) 10/12 (26″) 14/16 (28″)
Sleeve: 2/4 (13″) 6/8 (15) 10/12 (17″) 14/16 (19″)
Adult Sizing –
Bust: S/M (40″) L/XL (48″) 2X/3X (56″) 4X/5X (64″)
Length: S/M (30″) L/XL (32″) 2X/3X (34″) 4X/5X (36″)
Sleeve: S/M (21″) L/XL (25″) 2X/3X (29″) 4X/5X (33″)
BEACH DAY COVER UP CAL – PART 4
SLEEVE CUFFS (optional)
Join yarn to a dc along bottom of the sleeve
Round 1: ch 1, sc in each dc around to shoulder seam, 1 sc in ch-2 space, 1 sc in the center of the seam, 1 sc in ch-2 space , sc in each remaining dc around, joint to first sc with sl st
Round 2: ch 1, *sc, sc2tog* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st
Round 3: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st
Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
Repeat other sleeve.
TWISTED FRINGE (optional)
Join yarn to a dc along the bottom of the skirt, ch 1.
*sl st in dc, and continue to pull the yarn until the loop is approx. the length of a crochet hook (about 6”).
Twist the 6” loop towards you 20 times.
Fold twisted loop in half, sl st to the same stitch*
Repeat from * to * in each dc around the bottom.
Fasten off, weave in the ends.
DRAWSTING (optional)
ch 3
Row 1: insert hook into 2nd ch from hook and pull up a loop, insert hook into last ch and pull up a loop (3 loops on hook)
Row 2: secure the bottom of the loops with thumb and middle finger of left hand (or right hand if left handed), remove the two leftmost loops off the hook (or rightmost if lefthanded) -do not let them go- , you have 1 loop on the hook, ch 1, insert hook into middle loop, ch 1, insert hook into last loop, ch 1
Repeat row 2 until drawstring is 2X the waist measurement.
Fasten off. Weave in the ends.
