Basketweave Brim Beanie Crochet Pattern (Crochet Along for a Cause)
This week’s Crochet Along for a Cause pattern is the Basketweave Brim Beanie – a cozy, textured adult beanie that’s great for both men and women. It starts with a basic crown, then transitions into the basketweave stitch along the brim for a snug, warm finish. The stitch gives it a rich, woven look that works well in both solid and variegated yarns.
If you enjoy this texture, you’ll be happy to know there’s a matching scarf pattern so you can create a complete set.

Materials
- Yarn: Worsted weight acrylic yarn
- Hook: H/5.0 mm hook
- Notions: Scissors, yarn needle, stitch markers (optional)
Why You’ll Love This Pattern
- Gender-neutral design: The clean texture and classic brim make it a perfect gift or donation for anyone.
- Cozy & warm: The basketweave stitch adds thickness, making it extra warm for cold days.

Matching Scarf for a Warm Set
This beanie is just the first part of a matching Basketweave Set. There is a coordinating scarf pattern using the same basketweave stitch. Together, the hat and scarf make an excellent warm winter set — perfect for donation to homeless shelters, community centers, and organizations that serve those in need during the colder months. Making a full set is a wonderful way to help someone stay warm from head to toe.
