  1. I haven’t done a blanket in a long time and this one is beautiful. I think that I will make it for my granddaughter who is building a new house and this will make a beautiful keepsake, thanks

  2. Thank you for such a beautiful pattern. I do have a question. In the last round (round 11), it states there should be 59 sc. If you have 17 sc per side would that not be 68?

      1. I have a question on Round 10. You say in video that there should be 23 hdc between each corner now mayte how I do it I only counting 21. I even frogged back 2 rows and it still came out the same am I doing something wrong?

        1. Hi! It’s really hard to see the 3rd loop in the first stitch after the corner. I would guess this is the stitch that is missing. You can do a regular hdc in the first stitch on each side and it will be easier to see. You can also take a stitch marker and mark the first and last hdc of each side to make sure they aren’t skipped. Hope this helps!

  3. Just finished part 1!! Yay! It is beautiful and so much fun. I am using my stash. I am not planning ahead. Will choose the yarn for each part as we go. It’s like a “mystery ” yarn afghan. Lol. Thanks for hosting us.

  4. Regarding row 11. I had the stitch count come out to 76 sc. 17 sc on each side x 4=68 + 1 sc in each popcorn =8. total 76 .Maybe the total showing was a typo? So far the square looks beautiful I like that the total stitch count is at the end of each row,so you can confirm the stitch count.thanks.

  5. Thank you Breann! You explain so well and I think this pattern is awesome. I learned and had fun at the same time.

    1. Hi! I would think since it’s worked in the round (without turning) that regardless of which direction you go the texture will be on the same side.

  6. Hi!!!! I’m just planning to get started on my blanket-printed out the pattern and am raring to go. What I’ve noticed is that you only give a total count for the yarn needed…..I guess if we’re pre planning what colors we want to use, we just need to guess? I’d like to do a color change for each round as the picture shows, where it shows. Yes, i’m like that lol!!!!! Any idea of how much i’d need where the colors change for each color? Yes I’m asking alot. I can wing it if i have to. Beautiful work, can’t wait to get started 🙂

    1. Hi! Yes, sorry. I used self striping yarn so I don’t know how much of each color. You can just take the total yardage and divide it by the number of colors you are using. No I don’t mention when to change colors in the pattern as I just let the yarn flow for most of it.

  7. Love the color used in the tutorial! However, when I search for Buttercream Caron cake yarn I can’t find one that looks like what you used. Any suggestions? Thank you!

      1. Hi! In round 8 there are 76 stitches total (including the slip stitches). Then in round 9 you are adding another 16 stitches in the corners 🙂 Hope that helps!

  8. Help! I am confused on row 11. My count is correct on row 10 at 23 stitches per side = 92 stitches total. That leaves me with 6 stitches to do the shell instead of 3. Can you help me figure out what I am doing wrong? Thank you in advance.

    1. Hi! Are you counting the popcorn stitches in the corners? If you have the 92 hdc + 8 popcorns that should be 100 stitches total. 25 each side 🙂

  9. Breann, thank you for your quick reply! I missed the chain 3 at the beginning of the row. I think part of it is that I was tired and getting frustrated with myself; I knew it was something I was doing wrong.
    You are the best!
    Carla
