Little Crochet Acorn

I made these cute acorns for my fall garland this year.

PATTERN

Materials
Worsted weight (4) yarn – I used I Love this Yarn in Brown and Toasted Almond
5.0 mm hook
Scissors
Yarn needle
Fiberfill (small amount)

Level
easy (must be familiar with basic crochet stitches)

Pattern Notes & Stitches to Know
sl st – slip stitch
ch – chain
sc – single crochet
magic ring

ACORN

In Toasted Almond make a magic ring

Round 1: ch 1, sc 6 into ring, pull ring closed, join to the first sc with sl st (6 sc)

Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (12 sc)

Round 3 – 8: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (12 sc)

Fasten off, weave in the ends.

In Brown make a magic ring

Round 1: ch 1, sc 6 into ring, pull ring closed, join to the first sc with sl st (6 sc)

Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (12 sc)

Round 3 – 5: ch 1, sc in each stitch around, join to first sc with sl st (12 sc)

Fasten off, leave a long tail for sewing. Weave in the first end creating a loop at the top of the acorn for hanging. Add fiberfill to the bottom of the acorn. Using your yarn needle and long end, attach the top to the bottom with a whip stitch.

Fasten off, weave in the ends.
