Border (Tunisian Stitch Scrapghan – Part 14)

Welcome to the final week of the Tunisian Stitch Sampler Scrapghan CAL… the Border! For the border, I used a simple ribbed stitch. For this ribbing, I used variations of double crochet.

Tunisian Stitch Sampler Scrapghan Border

Worsted weight yarn (the same color as the joining yarn)
H/5.0 mm hook
Yarn needle


Pattern notes & stitches to know
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
fpdc – front post double crochet
bpdc – back post double crochet

With the blanket right side up, join yarn to a corner of the blanket

Round 1: ch 1, *(sc, ch 2, sc) in corner, sc in each stitch across the squares and in the space between squares (where the squares are joined) working across as evenly as possible to the next corner* repeat from * to * around, join to first sc with sl st

Round 2: ch 2, dc in first stitch, *(dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-2 space, dc in each stitch to ch-2 space* repeat from * to * around, join to first dc with sl st

Round 3: ch 2, fpdc in first stitch, *bpdc in next, fpdc in next* across to ch-2 space, (dc, ch 2, dc) in ch-2 space* repeat from * to * around, alternate fpdc and bpdc in remaining stitches, join to first dc with sl st

Fasten off.

Weave in the ends.
